I will be on there answering questions as well. It's great for you to hear all the wonderful exciting improvements coming straight from parents.

Auditory Training is a Sound Stimulation Therapy Treating Listening Difficulties to Improving How the Ears Listen and the Brain Processes Information

What is Auditory Training?

Auditory training is a way of retraining the ears and brain to "listen". By exercising the small muscles of the ear to perform optimally, the brain is stimulated to make new brain cells and help the listener learn new skills and perfect old ones, all through the use of specialized music and sound techniques that we have developed and engineered in our sound studio.

dr tomatisDr. Tomatis, was a French ear, nose and throat specialist who spent his career studying the role of the ear and its connection with the brain. His extensive research in the 1950s showed how good listening can positively influence our health and well-being and how poor listening can adversely affect it. By treating opera singers early in his career, he found that when the ears don't perceive all the frequencies of sound, the voice will not contain those frequencies either.

The ear, he believed, was responsible for more than just taking in sounds. According to Dr. Tomatis, the ears also:

  • relay all sensory information to the brain;
  • control the muscles of the eyes;
  • charges our brain and give us energy!

 mother voice

The foundation for auditory training is patterned after the way a fetus hears sounds in-utero as discovered by Dr. Tomatis. He discovered as the mother speaks, only the high frequencies in her voice are rapidly channeled through her skeletal system to the fetus. This is hearing through bone conduction. It is the only way a fetus can hear its mother’s voice. The high frequencies carry consonants such as (f/s/p/t/) and consonant blends such as (sh/th/ch/). Being able to hear these high-frequency sounds, in essence, creates the desire for the fetus to communicate, wires the fetus for language and prepares it to hear and attach meaning to language outside the womb, when it is born, and it enables the baby to turn in the direction of the mother's voice and sets the stage for bonding with the mother.

frequencies of soundAuditory training, also known as sound therapy or listening therapy, uses different frequency of sound to help the ears and brain "tune in" and "pay attention". By stimulating the brain and body with different isolated frequencies of sound, the brain's desire to change is ignited. Along with using sound engineering techniques to give the ear and brain its toughest workout to create this change, a  pshychological, physiological, social and emotional response can be realized.

Little by little, day by day, week by week, the listener is gradually taken on a journey back to the womb as the music is altered or filtered (removed of certain frequencies) on the way up the audible spectrum to the high-energizing frequencies to simulate the experience the fetus had in-utero.  Passing through each frequency bandwidth allows brain to recognize those frequencies, lay down new neural connections and enable the child to perform certain brain and body functions that are associated with a particular frequency bandwith. In Lollipop Listening Therapy®, the listener is exposed to the music of Mozart and Gregorian Chant (the Monks chanting).

Lollipop Notes

Lollipop Listening Therapy® is one of the newest and most revolutionary auditory training programs on the market. It is still rooted in the principles and theories of the earliest research of Dr. Tomatis. But now Lollipop has been taken to a whole new technologically advanced level and is becoming a go-to therapy for children with Autism, ADD/ADHD, Dyslexia, Speech Delay, Auditory Processing Disorder, Sensory Integration Dysfunction and other developmetnal delays.
